Jiantan Underpass

There is a pedestrian underpass near Jiantan MRT station in Shilin District, Taipei, that I find visually interesting. The first thing I noticed when I came here was its many circular neon lights. It has concrete walls and the classic outdoor tiles seen everywhere in Taipei. The corner where the floor meets the walls often gets dirty from rain, carrying mud and dust with it. There are surveillance cameras, some with spider webs hanging in front of their lenses.

Location : Shilin District

It’s hard to miss, as it sits just south of the station and on the way to the Jiantanshan hiking trail.
